erincolliganI hold a Master Degree in Education (M.Ed.) and a Master of Fine Arts (M.F.A.), both from the New School University. Additionally, I am a Certified Orton-Gillingham practitioner and a Fellow in Training currently training teachers in the OG Methodology.  I am certified through the Academy of Orton-Gillingham Practitioners and Educators – the only organization established and authorized under New York State Education Law expressly to establish and maintain professional and ethical standards for practitioners and educators of the O-G approach for the treatment of dyslexia. Additionally, I am a certified Dyslexia Therapist through the International Dyslexia Association. As well as being a language therapist, I have trained with MaryDee Sklar as an Executive Functioning Coach. I have been in private practice as a learning specialist for over 14 years. Prior to this, I taught middle school English and various courses at the university level. I have lectured throughout the area on issues such as Executive Functioning, the writing process for learning disabled adults and children, and dyslexia. I continue to attend conferences and trainings for my profession such as Collaborative Problem Solving(R); Love and Logic(R); Seeing My Time(R); Brain Gym(R) and Lindamood-Bell’s Visualizing and Verbalizing(R).
